Kent the 21 th,24th, & 25th actually in early 1862 were organized into regiments at Hempstead,Tx. and put in C.S.A. service. The 3 units were then sent to Sheveport,La. to join up with Granbury to form the Texas Brigade and march oon into Arkansas. 21st under Carter went towards Little Rock and 24th & 25th were dismounted and sent to build Arkansas Post(Fort Hindman). On Jan.11,1863 a battle at Arkansas Post was a defeat to C.S.A. forces located there. Prisoners ,on the 12th were shipped north to prision camps. About mid 1863 there was an exchange of prisnoers and what few 17th,18th,24th,& 25th were consolidated into service and assigned to the Army of Tennessee. Any attempt here to follow the 24th or 25th is about impossible. Some stayed in Tennessee, some joined up with parts of the 17th & 18th in Louisiana and stii others just went home. So there really not to much out there written on either after Arkansas Post. There were a few with the Army of Tennessee ay surrender, but very few.--- Russell
