While I am on here, I'd like to thank Mr. Odom, Mr. Martin, and Mr. Bozic for taking the time out of your day to reply to my post.
I have already learned a lot that I didn't know about what happened to my ancestor Clinton Benfield. Thanks to you guys I know that he most likely died of illness in transport between Lubbock and just outside of Tyler, and not as a result of being killed battle which I had initially thought.
I had tried for a very long time to locate Clinton, but I had nothing beyond when he enlisted until recently, and even when I found out he died in service, I had no idea of how or where exactly. So thanks again so much. MIKE
