William Atkinson, Ochiltree's 18th Texas Infantry

Carol Huston,

The "D" in my "William D. Atkinson" reference was from your data.

Literally, what I have is:

"William Atkinson, 2nd Lieutenant in a Marion County militia" ..I have this in a section labeled "Marion County Missing Militia Records."
.
I must quickly tell you that some of William Atkinson's fellow commissioned officers are found on the same census page as an Atkinson. .. Yes, this is a lead that I thought I'd relate after I received more info on your "William Atkinson."
.
Again, please send what you know about your "William Atkinson." I am a direct descendant of Henry Atkinson/Adkinson/ Adkison of Pittlylvania-Franklin County VA. Several of his sons went to early Illinois. In fact several of my Virginia families went to early Illinois and some crossed the Mississippi into now Iowa.
.
Some of our superlative researchers can possibly help you, but first we have to have a little more information about your "William Atkinson."
