For researchers, such as yourself, who do not have the inclination to slog through all of the boring, constantly changing Texas laws re: the state militia, I spent an inordinate number of hours condensing these Civil War era definitions onto one page, vIIpA-1.

Yes, I think that my single-page summary that "defines the Texas militia during the Civil War era" encapsulates an overview that most researchers will understand. ..And in case there are further questions, I included references for more extensive study.

This is why we read books: we trust the author to convey a summary of the material that she addresses.
