Re: Terry's Regiment Texas Cavalry

Thanks, Gary. Yes, Riggs in the 10th and 12th is son to Elijah ,nephew to Elisha, cousin to my Thomas Riggs. The rest of the family is enrolled in TX while our Thomas Riggs is in MO. He is in custody as Thomas R., though he went by Riggs.I guess he didn't make it to TX, after prison, and probably getting his strength back, until late 1863--then enlisted in 1864?? I have had to sort through many Pennington's to get this far! All of them came from the same family: Timothy, then Riggs, then all of these brothers and cousins. Old Riggs came just after Stephen Austin, 1838. We lost our Thomas Riggs back in MO, and now I see why--prison. He should have come down with his daddy, Wesley, in 1860! (We have too many boys named after grandpa Riggs!) But--where/when did my Riggs enlist is the question!
