Gresham (Grisham) claims to have been born in VA, 4 June 1817, moved to Alabama in his youth, married, moved to Texas with an original land grant in Robertson County (now Leon)from Sam Houston in 1850. I don't think this civil war record is his after all. Don't understand the record? What does it mean, the slave schedule? We have an affidavit from an old negro man that stated he went to war with "Mr. John". I just know he is here somewhere.
