Re: Jonathan Golladay, Capt, Died Nov 30, 1862

Alan,
I'm having my fellow camp officers address the issue of Militia Service as a qualifier for SCV Membership. I wouldn't think that it would. However Walter Golladay's collateral ancestors would qualify him for SCV membership. I personally have 10 collateral ancestors in the 34th NC Infantry, 1 in the 29th NC Infantry and my G G Grandfather served in the 11th NC Infantry, Company B "The Bethel Regiment". Thanks for posing the question. I'll get an answer on that as soon as I can.

Also, in these troublesome times that we live in today with all of the unrest in the Middle East; readers may find it interesting that tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m Smith's Battery, an artillery reenactment and living history group, with members from several SCV camps, will participate in the official unveiling of a monument to Jewish Confederates at Hollywood Cememtery in Richmond, VA. We look forward to honoring our brave soldiers in grey who wore the Cross of David.
