Re: Oakwood Cemetery Announcement

Charlene,

I believe we have confirmation that Z.T. Israel is buried at Oakwood.

The following is what I received from the fellow coordinating the IDs of Oakwood burials after I have queried him re your search.

"What a stroke of luck i believe this lady has found one of the soldiers on the list thats been a problem. the original register of interments shows a S T Iseral, no compnay or regiment listed only the state of a Va. Although i assumed is was Zachariah i put the problem names on the back burner because there are so many others to do first, now whats good about this is that even though the last name is misspelled and the first initial is an S on the register because she knows he died in 1864 that would make his burial at the cemetery in a later section and the sections are listed from A thru G, the man listed as S T Iseral is buried in FC 004 which is the section for burials of 1864. I would say we have another positive match, i will correct the spelling and now we only have 10500 to go."
