My Virginia connections through my mother include the Walkers, Oteys, Dabneys, John Taylor of Caroline and others. We have a large portrait of his wife in our dining room, and have some of the information included in your e-mail. A Walker cousin of mine through the Norman Walkers lives in Charleston, S.C. Thanks to a relative in Lynchburg, we have about a hundred and sixty pages of typed copies of the letters John Stewart wrote to his wife during the War Between the States. What beautiful letters! -- David Walker McCullough
