Thanks very much. I found a letter written by General H.D. Clayton written to the Adjutant General stating what some of the soldiers did on the battlefield and it was signed by some of the commanding generals and then sent on to the Secretary of War. I need to find the letter from the Secretary of War responding.This was in 1863 after Murfreesboro.
