I contacted the Archives in Washington and talked to Cynthia Fox, Deputy Director and she told me they might possibly have them but they would not look them up. No help from them. She also told me that they had the original records for soldiers, but they could not copy them because of their age.
In fact, she did not who James Seddon was and asked me who he was, this after she had told me she knew all about the Confederate records, backwards and forward.
I contacted the Library of Congress and they told me that the records were at the Archives and gave me the Record number just like the one you gave me.
