The Virginia in the Civil War Message Board

Chris,

Thank you so much for responding to my posting. I consider you "the expert" on Richmond Confederate burials and especially Hollywood Cemetery. I think you're definitely on to something with T. A. P. Sanford. I've noted the cursive L and S can look very similar in Civil War era handwritten documents. In fact, Thomas H. P. Lanford, is incorrectly listed under a number of misspells in his service record as Landford, Lansford, etc.

I have done a quick search on online resources, such as the M.D. Gorman site, The Daily Dispatch, Ancestry.Com and his service record. So far, I've not been able to find him in a specific hospital.

If anyone else on the message board knows of another resource for Confederate hospital patients in Richmond in 1862, I be interested in hearing from you.

Thanks again Chris and I hope the readers of this message will pickup a copy of one of your books (see below).

Jim Martin
