Can you tell me what is the text of the first line on pages 16 & 17? I made photocopies of 4 pages of this book when I was at the Library in Staunton, Virginia last month but just now realized that the top line of pages 16 & 17 was cropped off the print out.
It has to do with the Federal retreat during Gen. Loring's Kanawha Valley Campaign of September, 1862.
