I had a g-great grand father and his brothers in the 25 Cav. Va. with Jas. Larmer
Edward H. Edwards , Augustus Edwards and William edwards. Their brothers
fought for the Union. Gus was captured but returned after war. Edward eloped
in the middle of the war - but returned to battle. He was wounded, fell in love
with his "nurse" - returned to unit. Discovered his brother had been captured, so
he went awol to elope, with Lucy Burke.
Gus and his brothers (even the Union boys) ended up in Kentucky as Marshalls
in madison county. Edward died somewhere between Va. and Ky returning home
