Thanks Alan. Iverson's command was part of the picket line set up northwesterly from Atlanta into northeast Alabama, and that would explain why Hannon's brigade (53rd Alabama & 24th Alabama Batt'n)would have been there. I suspect they pulled back toward Atlanta as Sherman went back in that direction, as they were immediately in front of Sherman as he came out of Atlanta on Nov. 15. I believe that's the way it ocurred, but have found little documented evidence to solidify that theory.
