41st Alabama Inf in Va. Sept. 1864

Obtained family information that my relative James Franklin Brownlee 'died 9/24/1864 one week after being wounded near Richmond, Virginia.' Jim enlisted in Company C, 41st Alabama Infantry, March 25, 1862 at Pickensville. I assume he was wounded in what is referred to as the 'protracted siege at Petersburg.' Was there a notable skirmish at that time(9/17)? Are there records of Confederate soldiers buried there? Jim also had two younger brothers killed in the war. They were John Oliver Brownlee and William Noble Brownlee. I have not located their units or any other info.

Thanks,
Bob Kelly
