Re: 41st Alabama Inf in Va. Sept. 1864

Bill,

Yes, I am familiar with the Brownlee Family Cemetery on Pickensville Rd south of Columbus. I have the grave marker listing, and have driven past it many times, but never stopped. There is a puzzling statement on the sign: "Three brothers who lost their lives in the service of the Confederate States of America lie buried here." This would likely refer to Elias Alexander Brownlee's three sons, but there are no grave markers for them--or
anyone else dying in that period--and it seems unlikely that James Franklin Brownlee, killed at Petersburg, VA, was returned here for burial. I do not know where the two brothers died.

Yes, I would like to obtain your book on the 41st Ala. My email is bkelly@afo.net.
