Re: Kierce Brothers in 42nd Alabama Infantry

In my opinion, what I'm reading leads me to believe
that George Kierce did not return to active service
following his release in 1863; I find nothing other
than reserve service after his release in which he
served as capt in a reserve co and later as maj
commanding a reserve bn.

Sorry cannot send pages from either, but there is
another in which G.W. and Joe Kierce are mentioned;
"Covington County History, 1821-1976" by Gus and
Ruby Bryan; it is for sale at the Andalusia and
Opp Chambers of Commerce and Mr. Ward sells his
book from his home in Andalusia; most likely you
could obtain both on Inter-library loan from the
Public Library in Amdalusia.
