Re: Confederate Monument at your Courthouse?

There are two articles and a photograph in "The
Heritage of Dale County, Alabama"; one article
has to do with the origins of the Confederate
Memorial at Ozark and the other with the dedication
and its subsequent move in which the shaft was
dropped and broken into two pieces; the photograph,
taken at it's dedication in April 1910, is of the
surviving Dale veterans with the memorial in the
background; last I heard, 8X10 copies of the
photograph could be obtained from The Ozark/Dale
County Library; I am fortunate to have a 18X21
copy which is very striking.

The Barbour County Memorial is in Eufaula; it sits
out in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in the county; no doubt, in the near
future, progress will dictate it's removal.

The Memorial for Bullock County is in the Old City
Cemetery at Union Springs; standing proud and tall,
it should be there forever.
