Thank you for the response. The 1880 AL census indicates the children were born in FL but we always thought that was an error and they were from AL. since we never could find them on the FL census until 1890. If the Morton confederates were from FL then this changes our thoughts as to where they lived during the civil war. Where can I find a roster of the Morton Confederates to see if John Alexander McDuffie. infantry, is listed on it and could possibly tell where he was actually from when he enlisted. also is there a roster of prisoners at Island Ten?
