Re: James D. Harp, 4th Al. Cavalry

Alan,
As always, your responses to the messages on these venues are awesome.
We know that James D. Harp was from Tishimingo County, Mississippi.
Broadfoot's shows James D. Harp in Company D, 4th Alabama Cavalry and J.D. Harp in Company B of the 11th Cavalry.
In one reference, I found that 2 companies of the 11th were raised in Mississippi and one was commanded by "J.A. Akers". In Company B of the 11th Alabama Cavalry, I found one J.J. Akers, 1st Lt. but couldn't find a Captain in the 11th with that surname.
In the old Confederate Veteran magazine, I found a reference to John J. Aker's Company, Simonton's Brigade, Mississippi Militia. Was Aker's Company absorbed into the 11th/4th and do the two references identify the same "Akers" officer?
Again, I appreciate your input here and in your emails. Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Jim
