Re: James D. Harp, 4th Al. Cavalry

Thank you all. I sincerely appreciate your knowledge and work on my behalf. I feel this is the James D. Harp who is my wife's ancestor, however the record is very sketchy.

Family oral history has it that the Harp ancestor died in the War Between The States. Your information coupled with some census records from 1870 which seem to indicate the correct widow and children with the surname Harp living with a second husband are pointing toward James D. Harp. I will keep digging for still more points of proof.

I am a frequent visitor to the Mississippi website, and a member of the SCV for some years. It is heartening to know you all are out there.

With best regards. Jim Gray
