Looking for information on Colonel Daniel E. Huger. Specifically I would like to learn why he was not captured at Blakely with his regiment (62nd Ala)? I know that a few of the regiment escaped by swimming to friendly gunboats though I doubt the colonel escaped thus. Shouldn’t he have stayed with his boys anyway? Was he absent? If so why?
