The boardwalk allowed the regiment to be transferred to Blakely not to Mobile. I have a first hand account that says that Col. Yniestre was in command of the regt. when it was surrendered. The Regt. (along with the 63rd) was in Thomas’ Brigade at Blakely but am not sure who was in field command (of the Brigade) Does anyone know if Thomas was captured at Blakely?
