I don't know the specifics of what happened with Huger and the 62nd, but I do know that a very large number of Confederates escaped to Mobile via a boardwalk. {At least I think that was from Blakely...could be Spanish Fort.} There is a period etching of the Confederates escaping using this boardwalk.
