Does anyone know anything about a Pioneer Corps in Alabama? My ancestor enlisted in Alabama, in the Confederate Army. He was in Co. F., 28th Regiment, Alabama Infantry. In June 1862, he is listed as "transferred to the Pioneer Corps."
