Re: Civil War Prisoner War Records 1861-65
Thank you for the reply, Alan. I think I have most of his other Civil War (AL 28th) records but still cannot find out what happened to him after he signed the oath and was hoping this 300J might be a clue, but reading A Short History of Rock Island Prison (online) it still seems he might have become a "Galvanized Yankee" and sent west. I cannot, thus far, find that he collected a pension and also, I cannot find what happened to his parents and siblings after 1860 census, save one brother. I have a niece who lives in the Wash DC area, would a visit by her to the Natl Archives help? Thanks. Elaine
