Have a provost marshall report #20236 bearing my GGGFathers name and outfit Company I, 5th Ala on it. Fold3 classifies this as a Union Civilian document. He was captured at Gettysburg 1 Jul 1863 and sent to Ft Delaware,, anybody have a clue why his name would appear on a Union Civilian's document?
