Grand fathers name was L.L. (Leroy) Britt/Brett. Our mystery has been we know he arrived at Ft Delaware, but his son who lived past 100 years of age always said his dad came home with a wound in his right foot. He wasn't going back to action but was taken back. His widow states on her pension application he was killed in the final battle of the war. His son says his dad was killed at the siege of Richmond. There is no date on the Provost Marshal report and there is no content in the file, just the cover!
