Barbara, normally soldiers who died in hospitals at places like Van Buren, Clarksville, Ozark, etc., were buried in local cemeteries. A few marked graves can still be found around Van Buren, but for the most part the wooden markers typically used to mark their graves have long since disintegrated. However, it wouldn't hurt to check the Johnson County website to see if they have any known Civil War-era graves listed.

The Compiled Service Records and most other records for Tumlinson's company are filed with Cocke's Regiment, so even though Griffith died before his company was transferred to the regiment, his CSR is filed there. He died on November 11, 1862, a month before his company joined Cocke's regiment on December 16, 1862.
