It is my understanding that the battle honors sewn on the flag of the 22nd/35th Ark Infty is a compilation of the actions attributable to both units. I believe the 22nd was at Elk Horn, but not the 35th.

I'd be curious if the letter you talk about relates to either the battle of Helena or Jenkins Ferry. I'd love to read a copy of the letter if possible.
