If you have not read it, find and read Clifford Dowdey's Death of a Nation: Lee and His Men at Gettysburg. Soft copies sell for less than the price of a double-cheeseburger at Wendy's, and are a lot more satisfying:

Having seen the battlefield, you're in a better position to understand and appreciate the command decisions made by Lee and his lieutenants during the campaign. Death of a Nation isn't the most detailed study ever written, but brings into focus what went wrong at each step, from the capitol in Richmond to the grassy slopes of Cemetery Ridge.
