In the OR the 36th Georgia was mentioned by the different commanders. However, in the records I have from NARA they are almost always refered to as the 36th. I guess the point I am trying to make is that if someone is researching a particular regiment, then you need to look for all the variable names that you can think of or have heard of. Just my thoughts.
