I have got another person in Texas I have been corresponding with about the 6th Texas. Strange how these things seem to come in bunches.

Obviously, if Bill H.'s information on his grandfather is correct, he was one of those men who was assigned under Hindman's order to the Little Rock Arsenal in 1862 because he was a gunsmith. Lucky him in missing out on the battle of Arkansas Post and spending several months in a Prisoner of War camp.

I would suspect that Bill's ancestor would probably show up on some union records, because of his skills, after the capture of Little Rock. If he didn't just go on back home. In any case he obviously wasn't one of those who died at camp White Sulphur Springs.
