You may be right about the casualities being the factor that the gamers concidered.

There is not a question of the 3rd Arkansas' "man for man" fighting ability at Vinard's Field on September 19th at Chickamauga. They were again outnumbered and outflanked guarding the flanks of the entire Confederate army. Yet they held their ground. They lost many a good man in that Da-- Ditch in the middle of the field. I figure that is where my GGgrandfather bought it.

I sure wish someone would write and updated history of the 3rd Arkansas and 2nd Arkansas Batt. using the knowledge we have today. Collier's "They'll do to Tie To" is a great book, but is dated. I believe a better Regimental History could now be written.
