Thanks. It may well be him, as there has been some talk of him being a pow in Alabama. I initially said Tuscaloosa, but it may have been Talledega. I didn't think that it would have been the first H. Beam that was listed on one of the previous posts, but it was certainly Hyrum Kyles Beam, as the census names my great - great grandfather, Peter Kyles Beam. I will look into the information you sent and follow up with you. I am a novice at this research, so any info on where to locate Confederate records would be a boon to me.
