I'm not a guerrilla expert but I believe something like that is what sent "Bloody Bill" Anderson over the edge. I think his sister(s) were imprisoned by Union authorities and the building collapsed, killing and injuring many of the women inside. I don't know if he was a savage before this happened or after. I do know he carried scalps of Unionists on his saddle until Price made him take them off in 1864.
