Janet, Here is all the info I have on the Cox bunch that I am kin to. I hope it's OK to make such a long post. Larry

Samuel Cox was born around 1797 in Kentucky and died around 1851 in Limestone County, Alabama. He married Charity Manning, daughter of Pridgen Manning and Mary Batchelor. Charity Manning was born in Nash County, North Carolina around 1803. Charity and some of her children moved to the Spring Hill Township of Hempstead Co. Arkansas in the late 1850s and she likely died there. She can be found on the 1860 federal census in the Springhill Township of Hempstead Co., Ar. but can't be found at a later date.

Mary Ann (Jackson) Cox was born about 1842 in Limestone Co. Al. and died around 1905 in Lafayette Co., Ar.. Both Thomas and Mary Ann are buried at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Hempstead Co., Ar..
NOTE: After looking at all the census from 1850 through 1910, one would conclude that Thomas E. Cox was not born in 1839 as shown on his tombstone.
Mary Ann's tombstone has no dates, only that she died at age 73. This is impossible since she died before 1910. She was likely 63 years old at time of death.
