Elisha may have been born in Morgan County, Alabama according to Sheri Skidmore

Elisha died at Locust Grove, Oklahoma & is buried at Hogan Cemetery not Peggs

His 1st wife was Nancy A. Musgrave, step-daughter of his sister, Parmelia Jane Young Walden Musgrave.

Their children: John H. 1857, and unknown baby died 08-1864 she and the children died during the CW at Little Rock, AR ;

2nd wife Sarah F. born 10-23-1838 died 02-13-1911 at Locust Grove, Oklahoma, buried in Hogan Cemetery: their children James F. born 03-25-1873 Polk co Ark, died 08-21-1904 Locust Grove, Ok-Hogan Cemetery; David "Big" born 12-10-1877 Polk Co, Ark died 07-13-1954 buried at Hogan Cemetery, Locust Grove OK, Fealix W. born 12-10-1877 died 02-01-1911 buried at Hogan Cemetery Locust Grove, Ok-Big and Fealix are twins-that's why David is called Big-he was the biggest of the two(cemetery records, marriage records, census records, family Bibles, living relatives who knew them

He was married to Nancy A. Musgrave, daughter of Quimby Musgrave, on 07-19-1857 in Sevier County, Arkansas by Justice of the Peace Corbell. (Info taken from actual marriage census records 1860)

Census records for Polk County, Arkansas show child "John H." (b. 1857 in Polk County) & Mary Malissa (b. July 1860 in Polk County, Arkansas) and John Walden II living w/ them as a farmhand. John Walden II is her step-brother son of Parmelia Jane Walden Musgrave and Elisha Walden. Census shows his birth as being 1838 in TN. Elisha Young is also his Uncle and well as step-brother in law. They were drafted into the Civil war in Polk County, Arkansas as confederate soldiers, then later changed to Union. Both served in Dawson's 19th Arkansas Infantry in Company D.

Actual military record reads: "Walden, John, Pvt. - Age 23 Enlisted 25 Oct. 1861 at Polk County, Arkansas. John was captured 11 Jan 1863 at Arkansas Post, Arkansas and was sent to Military Prison at Camp Douglass, Illinois 8 Feb. 1863. He died April 14, 1863."

Arkansas Post was captured by William Tecumseh Sherman (who burned through the South), He also burned the post destroying many of the Confederate Records. Many of our family switched to the Union after the fall of Arkansas Post and many didn't. He is one who didn't.

Also with him in Dawson's 19th are:

Elisha Walden, Pvt.-age 23 Enl. 25 Oct. 1861 in Polk County, Arkansas. Captured 11 Jan 1863 at Arkansas post & sent to Military Prison at Camp Douglass, Illinois Feb. 1863 then to City Point, VA April 10 1863. Retired to invalid corps Nov. 4, 1864.

Jeremiah Walden, Pvt. (age 15) enlisted Oct. 25 1861 in Polk County, Arkansas

Elisha Young, SGT-Age 23 enlisted Oct. 25 1861 in Polk County, Arkansas

James Young, Pvt (age 24) enlisted Oct 25 1861 in Polk County, Arkansas and was captured 11 Jan 1863 at Arkansas Post & sent to Military Prison at Camp Douglass, Illinois Feb 8 1863. Died of smallpox April 18, 1863 at Camp Douglas, IL."
