I went To the Edward Gerdes pages and could not find any of these men listed. Where should I be looking?

Also, a quick question....When a confederate soldier was captured what determined whether he was paroled or sent to a MP? Also, how were exchanges arranged. What were the obligations of he soldiers when paroled or exchanged?
