Re: Hindman's Special Orders May, 1862

I believe Hindman assumed command on 31 May 1862, which is why the copy books actually begin 1 June 1862.

The Community and Conflict - the Impact of the Civil War in the Ozarks, on the Missouri Secretary of State site seems to be the best online collection of the copy books

Terry E. Justice, who contributes to the site is working on an annotated book of Hindman’s orders, he may be able to help you find something.

Danny Odom is also very familiar with Hindman's Copybooks.
