Thank You Bryan.

So we do have a connection with Hiram Grinsted and Jefferson, Texas. That must have been quite interesting for both him and Col. Parson's to both be at Sulphur Springs in July, 1862. Granted Parson keep his cavalry out in the field most of the time. But you know that he himself came to headquarters at Sulphur Springs from time to time and they had to have run into each other.

I wonder if that had anything to do with Grinsteds 33rd Arkansas being the only Unit that was at Sulphur Springs, that I have found, that went north to Hindmans army in September of '62 rather than staying in the area where they were raised and going east in Churchill's army and to Arkansas Post?

R.G. Shavers had permision to take command of whichever regiment he was instructing at Sulphur Springs that he wished and he favored the 33rd Ar. But Shaver's didn't replace Grinsted as the 33rd's Colonel. Yet it was pretty obvious that Shavers rangled the 33rd being sent orders to go north with Shavers. And Shavers using the 33rd as the base to form his new brigade with the 27th and 38th Ar. around.
