In Response To: Civil War Medical Records ()

Hi Sharon,
I was just wondering if you were able to find any medical records on your GGGrandfather during the Civil War. I have several GGGrandfathers who were in the Civil War and I know that two of them were shot, but that is it. I would love to find out more. I know that you can write to the National Archives in Washington DC and pay for their records, but I was wondering if there is anyway to get free records. If you were able to get any information, I would love to know where I might look for some on my ancestors. One other thing, do you know if there is anywhere that photos might be posted of our Civil War Ancestors?
Thank you,
Lyla
