Lyla, you have to be careful even with the soldier's service records. They are not always correct. I have the records of one of my ggg-uncles and they say he died in the hospital in Ft Smith in 1863. From other records, such as the families applying to the court for help, I know for a fact this is him, but he died at home in 1909.
