Arkansas Post would make a good day trip. The park itself is beautiful. So sad that the remains of the fort washed away. I was born and raised in Dewitt and have spend a lot of time at the Post. Don't neglect the Arkansas County museum. You drive right past it on your way to Ark. Post. They have more articles on display related to the Civil War than the park.
