There are also some rifle pits on the opposite side of the river at a place called Conine's hill. Don't quote me on the name. The trench line was researched and excavated in the early 1980s when my brother-in-law was working for the Corp of Eng. as a park super. The site is on the road going to the Notrebe's bend park. Last I was there they had a marker on the side of the road. This trench line is basically directly opposite the Ft. Hindman site and I believe it was also part of the battle.
