First question, is this Jeff Patrick that is looking for the Order #72? I am with Danny Odom about Hindman not using a GO #72 in June 1862. However, I have all of Hindman' letters and orders transcribed and if my memory serves me correctly there was a letter sent to the Ordnance officer at Fort Smith with regards to a wagon full of 'Rockets,' up from Texas, what was to be done wit h them etc. I remember the oddity of that particular dispatch. I will look and see which one it was. I will have to agree with everyone else that these were signal rockets or flares.
