Here is what little I remember about the rockets. They were used by the U.S. Government during the war with Mexico. After that war there were some rockets left over and they were stored in Texas. Young Robert E. Lee had something to do with the rockets.
During the Civil War Shelby aquires a wagon load of the rockets and was in a battle in or near Indian Territory and the rockets were captured by the Yank's. I remember Shelby made some derogatory comment about the man driving the rocket wagon. Shelby felt like the guy goofed off and let the rockets be captured.
