In Response To: Re: Pvt. John Wycliffe Shoptaw ()

I received a letter from VA today requesting documentation of the place he is buried. I have the Registar that was signed 15 Oct. 1863, that he died in the Hospital at Columbus, Mississippi. I have written Friendship Cemetery asking for assistance and they can not varify he is buried in the cemetery, however they say many Confederate Soilders are in unmarked graves.
I sent a copy of the letter to all family members hoping someone will have information that will be able to be submitted to VA.
Any suggestions would be welcomed, Fred
