Well...I don't know. Haven't heard of that. But I do know that it is recorded that as of Dec. 1862, the 3rd Mich. Cav. was armed with revolving rifles. That is recorded in the diary at the attached link. An article in the "American Rifleman", March 2004, states that these were not delivered until Oct. of 1862. The regiment received 294, and they were of Colt manufacture. The order books (in the National Archives?) of the regiment's companies should shed some light on the weapon issuaces.
